About Us

Equine Services offered at the Pacific Vetcaregeneral services at Pacific VetcarePacific Vetcare opened in Coffs Harbour in 1973 and with the addition of clinics in Sawtell, Woolgoolga and later Coramba has been providing quality veterinarian services in Coffs Harbour and surrounding districts ever since. Pacific Vetcare has grown significantly over this time and has undergone many changes, most recently in moving to our new purpose-built premises in Harbour Drive.

As Partners, we Dr David Johnson, Dr Stephen Deist and Dr Allan Hudson, together with our Associates, take great pride in providing expert veterinary care for all types of domestic pets. We also have expertise with farm animals and due to client demand a significant portion of our new premises is dedicated to our equine patients.

All of Pacific VetCare’s practitioners have particular areas of interest and expertise, from technical orthopaedic surgeries to ultrasound, emergency medicine, intensive care, dentistry and anaesthesia. Our vets are supported by a strong, dedicated and highly skilled team of nurses, most of who either have achieved or are training towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications in Veterinary Nursing.

Another key ingredient in our practice is our office staff members who are responsible for the smooth running of the practice from the scheduling of appointments to ensuring we are well stocked with essential supplies to meet our patient's requirements.

In line with our commitment to take advantage of emerging technologies in the veterinary science field, a continued focus on professional development and training for all staff is highly valued and undertaken on a regular basis to ensure that we are always able to provide the highest standard of care.

As well as focusing on training for our own staff, Pacific Vetcare is an approved training facility for University Students to gain vital practical experience in all areas of veterinary care.

In addition, Pacific Vetcare facilities are utilised by TAFE and other training institutes to ensure students are able to obtain ‘hands on’ experience in a working animal hospital. Pacific Vetcare also supports local schools with work experience placements for students.

Pacific Vetcare and the community

Pacific Vetcare helps with wildlife rescue and careWe are committed to our own community through sponsoring special events and supporting local businesses and charities. We are very pleased to be the main providers of veterinary services to the Coffs Harbour RSPCA shelter. Every year we treat hundreds of cases from routine health checks to desexing operations. The RSPCA is a not for profit organisation and does not receive government funding, therefore we believe the work that we do is crucial in supporting the ongoing operations of this organisation.

Wildlife is also a very important part of our work, each year we see and treat hundreds of animals, from Koalas and Kangaroos to Snakes, Turtles and native birds. Where possible the animals are returned to the wild after spending some time in rehabilitation with a WIRES carer. This is another not for profit organisation that we are proud to donate our services to and without it our native wildlife would not be given so many second chances.

Pacific Vetcare is dedicated to continuing the provision of expert, quality veterinary service today and well into the future.
